9 mars - 24 mars 2017 · London
Sample some of Syria's favourite dishes cooked by Imad Alarnab, a Syrian chef and refugee living in London.
This event has been and gone. See what went down...
Imad Alarnab was a successful restaurant entrepreneur living in Syria. He had several popular restaurants, juice bars and cafes. But the war meant he had to flee and leave it all behind. Now living in the UK with his family, Imad is determined to make his dream of running his own restaurant again a reality.
Appear Here's mission is to create a world where anyone with an idea can find space to make it happen. When Unicef NEXTGeneration introduced us to Imad, we know we had to help. Together we've been working with Imad to help him bring his idea to life.
For two weeks from 9th March, Imad's Syrian Kitchen will be appearing on the Columbia Road and serving up some of Syria's most popular dishes. We'd love you to join us at the table and celebrate making ideas happen against the odds.
This will be a family-style supper, with a 3-course set menu designed to be shared with fellow diners. The menu includes many traditional dishes such as Fattoush (toasted flatbreads, pomegranate molasses, tomato and cucumber), Kabsa (spicy chicken with cardamom and rice) and Tabakh Rohoo (aubergine, squash and tamarind stew).
Proceeds from ticket sales will be supporting #CookForSyriaand Unicef NEXTGeneration to support children in Syria and the region.
