London Fashion Week Market

19 Sep 2016

For TOPSHOP’s fashion week showcase, an unlikely combination of models and market traders stood side by side in Old Spitalfields Market. In partnership with Appear Here, TOPSHOP created the ultimate shopping experience; a catwalk surrounded by an Appear Here curated market featuring 40 of their favourite brands.

The TOPSHOP Unique collection itself was inspired by market fashion. As the Creative Director, Kate Phelan explained to TOPSHOP, “we looked back to the heyday of London fashion in the late ’80s, when markets were everywhere. There was Camden, Kensington, Hyper Hyper… these fashion emporiums opened up so many diverse styles; it’s that great individual British style that comes through in today’s collection.”

In keeping with the market theme, the looks from the show were available to shop straight away at the TOPSHOP pop-up market stall. Both fashion celebrities and members of the public were able to get their hands on some of the latest pieces hot off the catwalk, and also explore Appear Here’s market stalls for unique products from some of London’s best up-and-coming makers.

Fashion week is a huge moment for brands and retailers, which is why Appear Here is always on the look out for exciting ways in which more brands can be part of it. And it doesn’t get much better than showcasing your idea alongside some of London's top designers in the TOPSHOP Unique Showspace. Here are some of our favourite moments from over the weekend.
