The Five at Five: Ed Foy
20 May 2021
From hidden-gems to places to people-watch, from bookshops to beauty spots - The Five at Five offers some post-lockdown inspiration that celebrates the independents.
This week’s selection has been carefully curated by PRESS London Founder, Ed Foy who takes a closer look at London’s Soho district - where his brand’s HQ is located. We certainly approve of keeping things local.
Back in 2014, Ed Foy and his business partner launched a pop up in Old Street Station, selling juice from a bathtub. Fast-forward to today and PRESS London is now stocked in cafés, hotels, restaurants and shops, as well as offering juice cleanses and plant-based meals online.
El Camion, Soho is truly one of the most fantastic casual dining/bars in the world. The team is incredible, music amazing, and the famous Dick Bradsell masterminded the downstairs bar and is always entertaining to see there.
Since the semi un-lockdown and since they pedestrianised Old Compton Street is the best place to people-watch. It has the most incredible energy towards the end of the week.
The Soho Original Bookshop is a legacy location that has been around for a very long time and one of the last of the Paul Raymond-era spots.
I would say that the Soho Aesop Store is beautiful, and right opposite is Byredo. Both stunning brands brought to life.
There is nothing you cannot buy in London, and it truly is the most cosmopolitan city I have visited. For people, food, fashion and culture.
