Appearing in Paris

To celebrate our launch in Paris, we decided to practice what we preach and launch our very own pop-up shop. The idea: showcase the amazing brands using Appear Here, by bringing them together as part of the first Appear Here Collection.

We took a space in the Marais during Paris Fashion Week and thirty of our favourite brands from London and Paris joined us in store. They included the very first brands to launch with us in London and Paris – Suitcase Magazine and Balibart.

Collaborating with upcoming Parisian start-ups, creatives, and foodies, we hosted a series of events in store, from secret gigs to supper clubs. In just 10 days over 1000 people came to visit our pop-up. Take a look at what went down.

The Launch Night

We set the tone right from the start. The paint had only just dried on the walls when we opened our doors for the launch night. Partnering with DOJO and Generous Gin, our guests were treated to an endless stream of G&Ts and empanadas courtesy of one of Paris’ newest street food ventures, The Asado Club.

A Secret Gig by Sofar Sounds

On Saturday night, Sofar Sounds took over the store, giving three upcoming musicians a platform to perform. Sixty guests piled in and sat in awe of the spellbinding percussions of Alex Kizito; the bewitching sounds of Tarik Chaouach and his gumbri guitar; and the hilarious songs by Michelle Blades.

All-day Brunching

The Marais is famed for its brunches, so we decided to get involved. La Claque joined us in store serving up coffee and pastries from their pop-up truck. We also invited in Simone Beauty, an on-demand beauty service, to provide shoppers with a speedy manicure service.

Waffles and White Tablecloths

We partnered with Maison Waffleganger to host an intimate supper inside our shop. Twenty of our key landlords sat down to a meal of fried chicken and waffles, served out of Maison Waffleganger’s vintage food truck parked outside.

Le Femmes de Demain

For our final event, we hosted our first Underground Session in Paris, celebrating ‘the women of tomorrow.’ Our speakers included Sabrina Goldin, founder of The Asado Club; Floriane Pelletier, founder of Louis Antoinette; Stephanie Pelaprat, founder of Restopolitan; and Caroline Gentien, founder of Simone Paris.
