Newcastle Central Station has recently been revamped. And with 20 million visitors from across the UK each year, it’s a gateway to this northern powerhouse of a city. Now it can be a gateway to your idea too – as part of a new weekly street market just outside the station.
Great ideas in food & drink are welcome to pitch up in the forecourt, with 8 market stalls available each week. Gifts, accessory and retail brands will also be considered. The landlord is Virgin Trains – so you can be sure they’ll be bringing real marketing power to the event.
The market launches spring 2016, and will take place Thurs-Sat each week. It’s £150 to rent a stall for three days and you’ll need to bring your own equipment and truck or stall. Bring your brand to locals, visitors and commuters alike as soon as they reach the city centre.
This market will operate from Thursday to Saturday only, and will commence on 19-21 May.
Traders using a gazebo must use a high quality new or as new Pro 40 / Pro 50 specification or equivalent gazebo, alongside a minimum of 20kg weights on each leg of the gazebo.
There is a mandatory station security briefing prior to your first day of trading. The first briefing will take place at 11am on Tuesday 16th May. Pitch locations will be confirmed at the safety briefing with Station Staff.
Traders are not permitted to set up gazebos/vehicles or equipment that requires more than one person to bring it to site between the hours of 07.00 – 09.30am. Any trader using a vehicle to unload from must remove the vehicle from the site by 7am. Any trader operating from a vehicle must be on site prior to 7am and cannot be moved until trading has completed.
Subject to the Station team’s approval you will be permitted to site 1 A-Board adjacent to your pitch. No other re-decoration or storage of items outside of designated space permitted.
Traders must pack down gazebos/remove vehicles at the end of the trading day. Traders are required to take all rubbish with them.
It will not be permitted to vacate and leave site between the hours of 4pm and 6.30pm. Trading must cease by no later than 7.30pm.
No power, water or drainage is available. Tenants can bring in their own gas supply - but be aware that although gas cooking is permitted, you cannot use any exposed flames (such as a bbq/fire pit), make loud bangs or throw or roll things outside of your pitch area.

Traders using electricity, gas cylinders, cooking or other equipment that have the potential to cause a fire are to bring their own fire fighting equipment including fire blanket, dry powder fire extinguisher (not CO2) and a first aid kit.
