A Little About This Space

What was once industrial warehouses has now been transformed into East London’s vibrant creative and collaborative space, Hackney Downs Studios. A hub for arts and business, you’ll find a menagerie of independent craft shops, markets and events housing all manner of creative talent. In a charming courtyard along Amhurst Terrace, rent this retail pop-up shop with glass frontage and tonnes of natural light.

THE CROWD

The studios is a family-friendly organisation with 600 residents on site. You’ll find everyone from young professionals to yoga lovers and cycling enthusiasts stopping by to and from work during the week. Throughout the day, artsy-types and families come to sample the shops, visit Hackney Downs park, and enjoy the healthy lunch at Autumn Yard Cafe. Saturdays are busiest when the weekly Vegan market sets up in the yard from 11am until 5pm.

In the centre, The Village Green is home to seven independent shops including The Hackney Peddler for bikes, a florist, hairdressers and The Well Garden Natural Health Centre.
