Madam Roxy’s Erotic Emporium Felt Sex Shop

image description

This pop-up exhibition, from artist Lucy Sparrow, isn’t one for the faint hearted but it is definitely one for the curious. Once a worker in the adult entertainment industry, the aim of Lucy’s Soho emporium is to respond to the government’s new laws on the adult industry. But don’t be getting hot under the collar just yet, the entire space, including its 500 objects, are made of felt. From toys to contraceptives, magazines to DVD’s, Lucy has stitched up hundreds of pieces which, if they were not made of felt, would be illegal. This is not suitable for children, but it is a thought provoking pop-up for grown-ups.
