The Five at Five: The Nue Co

18 Jun 2020

The Five at Five is a download of the best things to read, watch, shop, and get inspiration from – ready for the weekend. Each week, we’ll be bringing you selections from different tastemakers in our community, so you can delve into what’s keeping them entertained.

The Nue Co

This week’s curator is Jules Miller, founder of The Nue Co, a beauty and healthcare brand that aims to redefine supplements from the way you feel about them to the way you take them.

Lost Connections

Read: Lost Connections, every person needs this book! It challenges the idea that depression is hereditary and instead is a response to our fragmented life in the modern day world. Humans need meaningful connections with themselves and the world around them, and this concept is something that is very important to what we're trying to achieve at The Nue Co.

One Nation Under Stress

Watch: The documentary, One Nation Under Stress. I recommend everyone to watch it.

1619

Listen: 1619, a podcast hosted by the New York Times narrated by reporter Nikole Hannah-Jones. It's an eye-opening project that re-examines the history of slavery in the United States.

Pam Pam Store

Shop: Pam Pam in East London. The store offers a curated collection of the best independent labels and lifestyle products, where women of all walks can feel comfortable in their own sense of style.

Munroe Bergdorf

Inspiration: I'm really inspired by Munroe Bergdorf, she's paving the way for a more diverse beauty industry. I was so pleased when she released her statement that she now sits on L'Oreals UK Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Board providing a voice and a champion for black, trans and queer voices in the beauty industry. I always feel like I've learnt something after looking at her feed and that's the way it should be.
