Last night marked the launch of Old Street Terrace. A big screen TV, accompanied by craft beer and street food vendors, landed on Old Street roundabout, for the opening night of the 2014 World Cup.
This Appear Here space, powered by Spin London, Pocket High Street and Religion, brought the regeneration of Old Street Underground above surface for the first time.
Revellers enjoyed the party atmosphere, whilst soaking up the early evening sun, it became easy to forget that you were stood in the middle of a bustling roundabout.
In what was once a disused, discarded and undervalued space, the Old Street Terrace was able to capitalise on one of the biggest events of the summer to produce a vibrant, novel and exciting experience. Old Street Terrace will be showing every World Cup game.
We’re delighted to be able to activate these previously unused locations and fill them with great ideas, demonstrating that no space is a wasted one.
We’re always looking for innovative ideas and new partners, if you think you’ve got a great idea for this space, get in touch here: www.appearhere.co.uk/spaces/oldstreetroundabout
