Rachita Saraogi and Rebecca Thomson first met in 2015 while studying at Central Saint Martins. What started as a research project – on the steep drop in women going from higher education to creative careers – led them to co-found Sisterhood: a social enterprise focused on empowering young girls through creative programmes. Their mission? To help girls with a dream become women with a vision. Winners of the inaugural Space for Ideas competition category, Space for Change, they launched a bookshop and storytelling lab on Slingsby Place in Covent Garden. Over the course of 2 weeks, they received 700 visitors, distributed 1200 flyers, and came to the firm conclusion that the high street is where they belong.
