A Little About This Space

Barnes is very much like a quaint country village, but with the independent boutiques, upscale restaurants and active arts scene to remind you that you’re still only five miles from central London. There’s a close-knit community vibe here, and locals have been keen to see something opening up in this fully-furnished F&B space on one of the village’s main shopping streets, close to Rick Stein’s restaurant and food critics’ favourite Riva.

THE CROWD

With its green spaces and good private schools, Barnes is a hit with affluent families, as well as creative and media types that want a taste of country life while remaining connected to the capital. Weekdays are quieter than weekends here, although you’ll see locals out and about shopping for groceries or taking tea at Orange Pekoe next door. With Richmond Park, the river path and the London Wetland Centre close by, Barnes is a prime spot for a weekend walk followed by lunch or a riverside pint at the likes of Rick Stein or The White Hart over the road. Barnes Bridge station is a three-minute walk away.
MEET THE NEIGHBOURS

The tables outside tearoom Orange Pekoe next door are packed on sunny days; to your other side is designer Marco Tripoli’s eponymous boutique, best-known for its handbags. Over the road is Dolce Crema, a café that serves home-made Italian ice cream, and you’ll be near the 17th -century riverside pub The White Hart and Rick Stein Barnes.
