Not surprisingly for a place with such a long maritime history, Rotherhithe is home to the oldest pub on the Thames, The Mayflower, named after the ship that took the Pilgrims from here to America in 1620. A short walk from the riverside and its views of Wapping over the water is this beautifully finished gallery space to let, with foldaway shelving and a small kitchen and toilet at the back.
Cheaper properties and good transport links have enticed more young Londoners into the area; case in point, Rotherhithe has its own pop-up bar, Midnight Apothecary. Bermondsey Beach and the lovely Angel pub are on the riverside nearby, but West Lane is largely residential with not much to entice non-residents down it, so you’ll need to let potential customers know you’re here. Bermondsey station (serving the Jubilee line) is less than 500 yards away.
You’re sandwiched between a barber’s and an Indian takeaway. Sainsbury's Local is over the road.
You’re a bit off the beaten track here, so don't be afraid to shout a little louder about yourself.
