Unpretentious, entertaining and lively, Franklin Avenue is full of Brooklyn cool but without the attitude. A self-contained foodie haven, this is where Brooklynites in the know come to dine out. And in the middle of all that is this bright and airy pop-up retail space to let, formerly used by DC Comics and Reebok.
Crown Heights, like most of Brooklyn, is changing. There’s a mix of stalwart locals, families heading to the nearby Children’s Museum, and tourists soaking up the sun in Prospect Park. A street with a steady amount of passing trade, this area really comes to life at sundown when local restaurants are packed with 20-something urbanites. Franklin Av metro is a five-minute walk.
This space is next door to a gospel outreach centre and a tattoo parlour, and opposite clothes shops and cafes. Bars, restaurants and Starbucks are all a couple of minutes’ walk away and Brooklyn museum isn’t much further.
This isn’t Brooklyn’s most prominent area but the huge storefront and busy location makes up for it.
