In between Fort Greene to the west and Bed-Stuy to the east, Clinton Hill is mostly known for being home to Pratt Institute, one of the best arts schools in the country. Myrtle Avenue, one of the main thoroughfares in Clinton Hill, has a number of restaurants, bars, and stores that are popular with the local younger crowd. This retail space (a former beauty salon) to rent has a large, open-concept layout.
Clinton Hill trends younger because of its close proximity to Pratt with artists and young professionals choosing to live here because of its cheaper rents. Soco is a popular southern restaurant that turns into a cocktail lounge at night. A few blocks down, Putnam’s Pub and Cooker has a relaxed gastropub atmosphere that stays open late. Kum Kau is a neighborhood staple that does Chinese takeout really, really well. The Classon Ave G station is three blocks away.
Next door is Bella Rosa Flower Shop and across the street is BKG Coffee Roasters, a low-key cafe with outdoor seating. A couple of doors down is The Emerson, a neighborhood bar that hosts art shows. Brooklyn Tap House, a block away, is where locals go to catch the latest big game.
Myrtle Avenue sees a lot of foot traffic because of the college crowd, although there's not a lot of public transport.
