Ham Yard Village has brought new life to Soho, pioneered by the opening of Kit Kemp’s Ham Yard Hotel in 2014. New boutique spaces have popped up since then, bringing new energy to this once seedy street. This white-boxed boutique opens onto Denman Street and the Village, home to brands like Brummels of London and Rio's very own Frescobol Carioca.
Ham Yard acts as a portal to village life for shoppers, businessmen and guests from Ham Yard Hotel – a lot of which are exclusive customers. There are usually more people passing by in the afternoons and early evenings with after-work browsers, diners and drinkers.
Australian jewellery label Dinosaur Designs and Press Juice London are among the few brands to recently join the Village. Opposite on Denman Street, JP Books specialises in Japanese texts. Blacklock serves succulent chops and £5 cocktails in a former underground brothel. Two doors from Folk’s menswear boutique, the pop-up bar, Kultured, specialises in probiotic cocktails.
