A Little About This Space
Launched back in June 2014, Platform is a project set up in Croydon with the aim of contributing to the area’s developing culture. Located in Ruskin Square, this space is a large outdoor area where you can hold a branded event or collaborate to host a unique affair that the local community can enjoy.
The outdoor space forms the walkway between East Croydon station and the roundabout on Landsdowne Road and Dingwall Road. It’s a very busy area with impressive footfall, being right next to one of the busiest non-terminal rail stations in London. Previous events have included a ping pong festival, Wimbledon screenings, and an urban beach installation, so as you can see, the possibilities are endless.
Hosting regular events such as sports events and weekly food markets, Ruskin Square is gaining a reputation as a go-to destination in itself. This site is a public space where local talent can be showcased to the crowds of South London.

Rules of The Space
Redecoration: No drilling into the floor.
No selling of alcohol without a Temporary Events Notice.
VAT is payable on the rent.
No regular vehicle traffic on site.
It's asked that you don’t cover the holes that are used to water the trees and don’t obstruct the walkway.
There is no waste management provided on site therefore all items need to be disposed of on the day otherwise a penalty fee will be charged agains the deposit.
You must own a £5m Public Liability insurance covering outside events.
Generators must be low noise and must have been electrical safety (PAT) checked. Direct electrical supply is VERY LIMITED and by prior agreement only. It will be carefully controlled and monitored by the Market Manager. Only low voltage appliances will be allowed.

If you wish to sell alcohol you must have a temporary events licence, you can apply for this through the local council.
