On a back street behind Manchester Piccadilly, the city’s forgotten Mayfield train station has been everything from a sorting office to a zombie film set over the last few decades. More recently it’s been home to the Manchester International Festival, and this large and industrial building is now available to rent as a unique retail space.
During the summer months, street food fair Grub (next door) attracts around 2,000 people to the Mayfield area every weekend. There are student halls and the Mayfield & Co co-working space nearby. Despite the city centre location, this area is more lively at the weekends. Manchester Piccadilly station is a six-minute walk.
The neighbouring Mayfield & Co co-working space is home to the Bottle Candle Co., events company Commonplace and property developers U + I’s HQ.
Licence: A1 and premises.
The space is available to rent for a minimum of 1 day.
Any redecoration and renovation plans must be approved by the Landlord beforehand.
This old building is a little rough around the edges, so it won’t be for everyone.
You’re in the middle of the city, but still a bit off the beaten track so you’ll have to let people know you’re here.
