Behind the big names on Europe’s busiest shopping street, the once under-used Bird Street is set to be the location for the world's first ‘Smart Street’ - a ground-breaking sustainable retail destination. Be among the first to trade here alongside a curated mix of fashion, technology and lifestyle brands.
Bespoke units designed to look like origami birds will transform Bird Street with a revolving collection of retail and outdoor dining concepts. The space will also trial new sustainable technology, including electricity generated by walking on paving stones and seating installed with special filters pumping clean air into the space. Each kiosk is fitted with a lightbox for a logo sign, basic lighting, and heating.
Bird Street is just off Oxford Street, between Selfridges and Gap, and a stone’s throw from Bond Street station. Oxford Street sees a staggering 140m visitors per year, and has an average annual spend of £4.16 billon.
