Lewisham may lack the glamour of neighbouring Greenwich, Dulwich and Blackheath, but its red brick shopping centre is where one of the country’s youngest, most culturally diverse communities comes to spend their cash. The site of a great deal of regeneration, Lewisham is one of the fastest growing boroughs in the capital as City workers and young professionals have begun to realise its potential. Lewisham Shopping Centre’s mix of high street brands such as New Look, Next and TK Maxx bring an average of 8.6 million people through its doors each year. Expect a steady flow of people during the week, but Saturdays and Sundays are the busiest. Lewisham DLR is less than five minutes’ walk away.
