The Arts et Métiers quarter, in the upper part of Le Marais district, is great for shopping and trend-spotting amongst Paris’s young and bohemian crowds. Nearby you’ll also find the Picasso museum, the Arts et Métiers museum and the historic – and recently refurbished – Carreau du Temple arts space.

This bright space is painted green on the outside and has large windows at the front. With its painted stone walls and exposed beams, it has a rustic charm, and is perfect for small-medium retail ideas. The space also has some fixed shelving, and toilets at the back.

Though currently one of the quieter streets in Le Marais, Rue du Vertbois leads on to the busy Rue de Turbigo, and is very close to the Arts and Crafts museum – a haunt for locals and tourists alike. And with other independent names becoming hot destinations nearby, such as Beaubien menswear boutique and Le NordMarais restaurant, there’s plenty of scope for success here.
