A Little About This Space

All over the capital, disused car parks are being transformed into some of the country’s coolest co-working spaces and cultural centres – think Peckham Levels and Brewer Street Car Park, which hosted London Fashion Week three seasons in a row. Tucked away behind Hoxton Street, this vast, industrial-style space is waiting for a new lease of life – move your idea in and make your mark.

THE CROWD

Although you’re within spitting distance of Kingsland Road and Hoxton Street’s shops, bars and businesses, Stanway Street is largely residential and pretty quiet – you’ll definitely need to let people know you’re here. There are some artists’ studios and an office upstairs, so no really noisy ideas please! Hoxton Station is a five-minute walk away.

MEET THE NEIGHBOURS

Aside from Sara Lane Studios, it’s all housing around here – although you’ll be close to the lovely Hoxton Trust Community Garden. Nearby on Hoxton Street, corner pub Howl at the Moon pulls in the crowds come night-time, and Monty’s Deli and The Ginger Pig Café are a hit at weekends.

Rules of The Space

The space currently has a B1 license. The owner is looking into flexible use – or you can request more information from the council.

There are some artists’ studios and an office upstairs, so no really noisy ideas please.

Minimum let is 1 month, but the landlord would ideally like lets of 3-6 months.

The space will be cleared out and the yard will have been put right before you move in.

You can make changes to the space, with the landlord’s permission.

Home Truths

The space won’t be ready for a couple of months – the debris needs to be cleared, the lighting and toilets need some TLC and the outside will have some building works done to it to clear the yard and tackle the Japanese knotweed.
