You will feel different when you visit Greenpoint, there is something about the vintage record stores, the not too tall buildings, and the bike friendly streets that will put you at ease. Once largely an industrial hub, Greenpoint has now become home to a burgeoning creative scene. This newly renovated retail space could be the new, popular shop in the neighborhood.
Greenpoint has loyal residents who love nothing more than to frequent their neighborhood cafes and store. In recent years, Manhattanites and people from other parts of Brooklyn travel to Greenpoint for inventive restaurants and bars in converted warehouses or for curated shops in retrofitted buildings.
Right around the corner, Alter sells indie, vintage men clothing and Walk of the West curates independent women brands. Home of the Brave sells handcrafted plates and bowls and Adaptions sell mid-century furniture to store those plates and bowls. In the early evenings and all day weekends, Ramona’s mixologists are famous for their cocktails as is Broken Land. Down the street, WNYC Transmiter Park attracts joggers and dog walkers. The NYC Ferry drops commuters off just blocks away.
The street doesn’t receive as much foot traffic so some sign on Franklin St, the larger thoroughfare, could be beneficial.
