What makes Carroll Gardens unique among other hip Brooklyn neighborhood is that long time residents and newcomers alike appreciate a slower, more family-focused style of living. The neighborhood wants to preserve their tree-lined streets, beautiful brownstones, casual restaurants, and independently run shops, while still experiencing chic, new stores. This newly renovated retail space can be just that - a welcomed addition to this quaint neighborhood.
Unlike other Brooklyn neighborhoods who embrace rapid change and Manhattan retail outposts, Carroll Garden residents appreciate and prefer their local shops and restaurants. Young families dominate the neighborhood, many of them work in Manhattan, but when it comes to where they live they prefer a less harried pace - shabby chic boutiques and local grocers. (The F and G train are accessible one block away at the Carroll Station)
Next door, Animal Loving Care takes care of Brooklynites’ best friends, their dogs. On the corner, Slowteria sells tacos and fresh juices. Up the street, Court Street Groceries offers gourmet prepared food. Further up the street, Wanderlustre and Yesterday’s sell modish home decor and vintage furniture. Vintage record stores like Black Gold Records and Almost Ready are also around the corner.
This space is on the quieter end of Court Street.
