The name “Betterton Street” may not ring any bells, but this Covent Garden side street is surrounded by local landmarks, including the Grade II-listed The Cross Keys pub and, at the other end of the road, Drury Lane’s Gillian Lynne Theatre. Set within an imposing, old warehouse building, this versatile venue is a great central spot to host your event; with two large studios and three treatment rooms available to hire as a whole or in parts, it can be tailored to suit your needs.
On weekdays, you’ll see plenty of office workers and Covent Garden’s creative types nipping out for coffee and lunch. Rock & Sole Plaice is a hit with locals and tourists alike – the tables outside this celebrated chippy are taken all year round. After office hours, drinkers spill out onto the pavement outside The Sun and The Cross Keys, and The Poetry Café attracts a cultured crowd, especially when there’s a performance taking place. Covent Garden station is a three-minute walk.
You’ll be next door but one to The Poetry Café, and menswear shop American Classics is on the corner of Betterton Street and Endell Street. You’ll have The Sun at one end of the road, and The Cross Keys facing out onto the other end.
This is a lesser-known Covent Garden street, so it’s a little off the beaten track.
