3 Apr 2020

The Five at Five is a download of the best things to read, watch, shop, and get inspiration from – ready for the weekend. Each week, we’ll be bringing you selections from different tastemakers in our community, so you can delve into what’s keeping them entertained.

This week’s curators are Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey, co-founders of Rixo – London’s cult fashion label.

Listen:
There are lots of great podcasts that I’m listening to at the moment: How To Fail by Eliza Day is currently my favourite, as well as Girl Boss Radio by Sophia Amoruso, The High Low by Dolly Alderton & Pandora Sykes and HOSTEing by Laura Jackson.

Read :
Exciting Times by twenty-six-year-old fellow Irish woman and author Naoise Dolan. She’s the first author we are highlighting in our online virtual Rixo x Refinery29 book club on 16th April, the same day the book is published.
- Orlagh

Watch:
Anything on Netflix… The Crown for some royal related binge-watching or The Stranger for a good crime thriller – it’s filmed in Cheshire and Manchester where I’m from, so it was funny seeing places I recognised.

Shop :
Our new SS20 pieces have just dropped – we’re finding the bright prints are keeping us positive dreaming of happier sunnier days to come!
- Orlagh

Inspiration:
Healthcare Workers! Everything the doctors, nurses and everyone on the front line are doing at this difficult time is the MOST inspiring. Our whole team alongside the rest of the UK took part in #clapforcarers – it was really emotional. Please stay at home everyone, those amazing doctors and nurses are staying at the hospitals risking their lives to care for and save you. Kitty O’meara’s poem captured this beautifully.
